Anton on premises¶
Anton runs on the institution's own server.
k & r is responsible only for the maintenance and support of the Anton application. Hardening the server, backups, updates and upgrades of the operating system and possibly of individual software packages, and the Apache configuration are the responsibility of the client.
Where an IT infrastructure is already in place, Anton on premises can also be economically attractive — particularly when large volumes of data are to be managed with Anton.
Anton administration stays with k & r¶
On premises too, k & r maintains the application itself — the difference from Anton as a Service lies in the server, not in the support.
A licence for wholly independent operation, where the institution administers Anton without k & r, is not offered at present. The reason is the pace of development: Anton is developed continuously, practically every day. Without access to the installation there is no way to ensure that it stays current and operational.
